We expect the new team member to:
Build our credibility as a data company through the Blog: Lead the entire life cycle of high-impact content – from mining our vast vehicle history data to final editorial oversight.
Own two high-impact content pillars:
Investigative data journalism: Partner with our data analysts and interview industry experts to uncover deep market trends, creating original research that hooks top-tier media and drives authority backlinks.
Social velocity content: Structure flashy and compelling stories (like vehicle history deep-dives with our influencer partners or detailed industry horror reports) designed to spark community engagement and shares.
Scale with AI optimization: Utilize AI to optimize and handle routine writing tasks (like localized press releases), freeing up your time to focus heavily on high-level strategy, editing, and creative campaign execution.
Orchestrate multi-channel campaigns: Coordinate seamlessly with PR, B2B, and Email marketing teams to transform single pieces of deep-dive content into cross-functional distribution campaigns.
Help the PR team build their own stories: Our PR team creates some research and other content on their own – you will help make their stories better.
Guard brand continuity: Ensure our E-E-A-T signals remain incredibly high on the blog, while occasionally stepping in to cover maintenance and low-risk UX/Conversion copy needs during team holidays.
Essential skills and experience:
Strategic content background: Proven experience as a Senior Content Writer, Content Marketer, or Data Journalist with a portfolio that shows you think in campaigns, not just individual articles.
Data-driven storytelling: A proven knack for finding compelling, human narratives hiding inside numbers and data.
People & relationship skills: Collaboration and project management abilities, as you will regularly interface with internal teams, B2B partners, and external automotive influencers.
AI & tech fluidity: Comfort using AI for writing / editing content and polishing workflows.
SEO & content marketing principles: An understanding of search intent, authority signaling (E-E-A-T), and multi-channel content distribution.
Good written / spoken English: We don’t need our own Nobel Prize in Literature laureate, but we do need someone with enough English mastery to recognize original and engaging content from AI slop (and to communicate with international partners).
